Sandra is a gg-grandaughter of John W Bowman Wilson via his son Albert Edward Wilson and grand-daughter Ann Elizabeth Emma Wilson. Her career on the Australian Amateur Golf circuit commenced in the late 1960s and reaching its zenith during the 70s and 80s.

Sandra played against some of the truly great golfers of the Australian Circuit of that period, many of whom also subsequently entered the international circuit, both as amateurs and professionals – such greats as Edwina Kennedy, Jane Lock, Lindy Goggin and many others.

Sandra was a great champion, winning the Australian Women’s Amateur Golf Championship in 1972 and 1974, and again in 1983 and 1984 defeating Lindy Goggin, Jane Lock, J Dale and Edwina Kennedy. She is one of only four women to have won four times in the Championship’s 110 year history – her equalling record now stands for over 20 years. In due course we hope to feature on this page some action photographs of Sandra recorded on the occasions of her victories.

Sandra’s profile is recorded by Golf Australia in its History & Honours register. A copy is attached here.
