It is important that appropriate regard is made to issues of privacy in respect to living members of our broad Wilson family in the contents posted on this site.
Accordingly where family pedigree charts and trees are posted which contain records of living persons they will be locked to prevent access by the general public; they will be available online only to authorised members of the family to whom access codes have been promulgated.
In the first place codes are available to those active in researching our family in Australia and Scotland, and who contribute such research findings to our research group, thereafter to those members of family who may not be active in research but who make contributions of relevant information to the research group.
Access codes may be made available where appropriate on application to the website administrator via the email address at the foot of the page.
Charts limited in content to Wilson family members of the old families since deceased will continue to be accessible without access code.

The information contained in text, image and charts posted on this site is based on research of publicly available records, and anecdotal and documentary records made available by members of the broad family in Australia and elsewhere.
Some information is legendary in nature, yet other is based on memories of people and events and has been passed on to our research group by family members. Accordingly, certain of this information may contain errors and inaccuracies and may in due course be amended as new information comes to hand.
Administrators of the site are unable to warrant the validity of the site’s contents (even certain information derived from official public records may sometimes be in error), and visitors to the site whilst free to make use of the contents should not rely on its absolute precision, rather they should undertake private research to validate where appropriate.
The purpose of the site is to lay out for all members of our Wilson family the findings of all the research our research group has undertaken; in the first place for the general interest of family members, but also as a means of encouraging members to contribute further information on our family’s history, and finally so that site visitors may be prompted to offer advice as to any inaccuracies which require correction.
Our research group (into which new researchers are always most welcome) acts on a purely voluntary basis; likewise this website is also made available pro bono by family members.
